Enhancing the cheeks is often the foundation in facial rejuvenation.
As we age our skin and cheek volume can decrease and give our face a flattened sagging appearance.
Cheek Enhancement can help to fight the effects that gravity has on the face as we age. Replacing the volume in the cheeks is one of the keys to achieving a more youthful appearance.
Cheek Enhancement is realised by injecting Dermal Fillers into the cheeks to give them a softer more natural youthful curve or for the younger patient by enhancing facial balance and cheek proportions.
Combination therapy for younger looking skin has become increasingly popular. Experienced injectors can achieve natural looking results by using both Dermal Fillers and Anti-wrinkle muscle relaxants in combination. This combination therapy often makes patients feel refreshed, while looking younger and as a result restores their self-confidence.
Sometimes the old saying ‘less is more’ rings true especially when using dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections, so don’t risk your cheeks with inexperienced injectors or you could end up with the dreaded ‘chipmunk cheeks, pillow face or piggy eyes’ these can all occur if too much dermal filler is used in the cheek area. Our highly skilled team will provide you with expert advice on how to achieve your desired look.

Why should I have Cheek Enhancement?
Cheek Enhancement can be done for both anti-ageing reasons or for the younger patient to augment facial balance and cheek proportions.
Ageing can cause the cheeks to lose volume and may appear hollowed and sagging; cheek enhancement using Dermal Fillers can plump up the mid-face and give it a more rounded youthful look.
What are Dermal Skin Fillers?
Dermal Fillers are a gel made of naturally occurring substance in your skin. Our experienced injectors use it to put back volume in the skin and to define certain areas of the face.
Are Dermal Skin Fillers safe?
Dermal Skin Fillers have been available for over 20 years and at Cosmetic Image Clinics the fillers we use have been fully tested.
What can I expect when having my Cheek Enhancement treatment (using dermal fillers)?
After your initial consultation you will be advised on an appropriate treatment plan which includes the areas of treatment, cost and most importantly how to achieve your required outcome. Your plan may include other treatments such as Anti-Wrinkle Muscle Relaxants and other Facial Rejuvenation treatments that we offer at our clinic that specifically address your concerns.
If you would like numbing cream to be applied prior to your procedure, please do not hesitate to ask. Ideally, this should to be done half an hour prior to your procedure, but even 10 minutes of application of numbing cream will help. We often use ice as well to minimise discomfort. We pride ourselves on making your experience as comfortable as possible.
The procedure will take approximately an hour, which includes the numbing time. Your practitioner will gently inject the dermal filler under your skin in the cheek area on the face providing plumpness, facial balance and restoring your skins volume. They will then gently massage the treated areas.
After your treatment, there is minimal downtime or recovery.
You may experience slight swelling, redness, pain and firmness to the treated areas. These symptoms are usually mild to moderate and improve after approximately 7 days or less. You can use an ice pack on the area treated if you have any swelling. If symptoms persist or you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our clinic on 07 3003 4000.
You should see immediate results from your Cheek Enhancement (Dermal Filler) treatment and results can last from 12 months to three years, but results may vary and touch up treatments may be required to reach your desired results. Our chosen dermal skin fillers used to volumise the cheeks have the greatest longevity of dermal fillers available in Australia.
Mineral make-up can be applied to the face after treatment. At Cosmetic Image Clinics we have Issada Australian-owned boutique mineral range of make-up available, so please don’t hesitate to ask our team for make-up application after your procedure if desired.
What are the potential side effects of Cheek Enhancement treatment and who should not have Dermal Fillers?
You may experience slight swelling, redness, pain and firmness to the treated areas. These symptoms are usually mild to moderate and improve after approximately 7 days or less. You can use an ice pack on the area treated if you have any swelling and take Panadol for pain. (Please do not use Ibuprofen/Nurofen as this increases your risk of bruising).
If symptoms persist or you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our clinic on 07 3003 4000.
Dermal fillers have not been tested on pregnant or breast feeding women and therefore should not be used during these times. Please advise us prior to treatment if there is any chance that you may be pregnant.
