  • Skin or Dermal Rollering, otherwise known as ‘skin needling’ or ‘CIT’, is a procedure that uses fine, small, short acupuncture like needles to gently pierce the skin and create tiny zones of mild inflammation in the skin.

    These minor dermal injuries lead to the stimulation of new cell formation via the normal skin repair mechanism, which enhances the tone, texture and appearance of the skin.

    Dermal Rollering or skin needling works on the same principle as procedures such as deep chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser re-surfacing and fractional radio-frequency resurfacing (Fractora™) by creating a controlled inflammation in the skin which promotes tissue regeneration. However skin rollering is naturally a much more economical procedure usually than these procedures and the healing period is often shorter. It can be used on all areas of the face, neck and body.

  • Performed in a medical clinical setting to deliver optimal results, there is often significant redness on the day of the treatment. The next day, there can be some residual redness of the skin; however this can usually be well camouflaged with make-up. The skin will feel somewhat warm for a day or two and will also feel slightly rough.

    Bruising is unusual but may occur in some individuals. Typically people resume their normal activities the day after their procedure.

  • To revitalize and rejuvenate your skin and also treat scarring, for the best results a Dermapen™ series of 4-6 treatments, spaced out at 2-4 week intervals is recommended.
